Asia Wang, Managing Director

Mr. Wang is a strategic and analytical corporate compliance expert with 25 years of experience. Asia is a proved team leader with professional experience in labor, environmental health and safety (EHS) and supply chain management. Asia is an expert in the establishment of labor, EHS systems and committees, hazard assessment and industrial engineering. Asia joined NEWAsia Solutions in March 2014 as the founding director of our business.

Prior to NEWAsia Solutions, Asia was employed at IBM as an EHS engineer and was responsible for the company's auditing and creation of EHS manuals, procedures and instructions. Asia also worked at Sears, Adidas, Reebok, Nike, BSR, ISC and other well-known brands in the labor and EHS field.

Asia holds a B.A. in Mining Engineering from China University of Mining & Technology.


Michael C. Elkin, Senior Vice President for Business Development

Mr. Elkin joined the NEWAsia Solutions Limited in March 2022.  Mr. Elkin is responsible for business development and customer relations globally to support large companies to improve the environmental and social compliance of their supply chains.

Prior to joining NEWAsia Solutions Limited, Mr. Elkin was the Chief Technical Advisor and Global Manager for the ILO’s Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises (SCORE) Programme.  The SCORE Programme demonstrates best international practice in the manufacturing and service sectors and helps SMEs to participate in global supply chains. in Asia, Africa and Latin America by improving working conditions and productivity.

Mr. Elkin also worked for 20 years at the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) most recently as an Assistant District Director for the San Francisco District of the where he was responsible for all management training and consulting programs in the San Francisco and Silicon Valley region.  He also coordinated the SBA’s export promotion programmes for the Western Pacific Region including Arizona, California, Nevada and Hawaii.

Mr. Elkin has a Masters in Business Administration from California State University, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Bachelor of Economics from San Francisco State University.  Mr. Elkin lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Scott P Gill, VP - U.S. Operations

Dr. Scott P Gill is a globally recognized expert in Environment, Safety, and Health (ESH), Risk Control Engineering, and Organizational Development with 36 years of manufacturing operations leadership experience across a multi industry sector from shipbuilding to shoemaking. He has worked with Fortune 200 companies around the world providing: Executive coaching, strategy development, organizational design, team building, auditing, training, engineering support, and program implementation.

Scott was the consultant for U.S. Dept. of Labor-OSHA in the development of harmonized vertical standards for Process Safety Management and Asbestos Mitigation, and served as the Leader of the National Shipbuilders Council Standards Committee for 10 years.  While at Nike, he helped write Code Leadership Standards for ESH and Labor and was the primary author of the Nike Global ESH Handbook. Scott has conducted over 10,000 manufacturing site audits globally.

He holds a PhD in Psychology from Harvard University, and MS degrees in Psychology and Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA.

Amanda Xu, Co-founder & Operations Director

Ms. Xu has engaged in supply chain management, business integration, and government relations for more than 23 years. Amanda focuses on policy recommendations to central and local PRC governments on the promotion of CSR; capacity building for companies implementing CSR; and partnership facilitation between Chinese and European organizations. She is credited with developing and implementing programs and protocols for domestic and international suppliers that achieved long-term compliance and capacity building.

Prior to co-founding NEWAsia®, Amanda was a Senior Project Manager at GIZ, where she was primarily responsible for Sino-German CSR project management, and the implementation of the EU-China Environmental Governance Program. She has previously worked for Chinese state-owned and multinational companies in CSR management.

Amanda holds an IMBA jointly from the Sun Yat-sen University Business School and the University of Cologne. Amanda is an expert trainer for Sustaning Competitive and Responsbile Enterprise (SCORE) Programme, expert for the Factory Improvement Toolsets Programme, and the certified trainer for BetterWork Supervisory Skills Training of International Labour Organization (ILO). 

Peter Pan, Project Director

Dr. Pan Tao has more than 10 years of practical, applied experience in urban sustainability planning and implementation, and has worked on successful environmental planning and management, energy efficiency, and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction initiatives in cities across China, filling the gap between policy and practice. He served as the China Urban Program Director in the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC) for the US-China Partnership for Climate Action (PCA), a public-private partnership supported by numerous Chinese and U.S. government agencies, and by top multinational corporations.

Dr. Pan Tao is skilled in effectively leading energy efficiency programs with municipalities, government agencies, international organizations, and the private sector; assessing the challenges cities face in reducing GHG emissions while maintaining strong economic development; designing and coordinating leadership and technical training programs and events; and efficiently managing all aspects of planning, monitoring, communications, and operations for complex programs.

Judy Tian, ESG Compliance Manager

Ms. Judy Tian has more than 16-years’ extensive experience in supply chain management. Judy focuses on CSR auditing, C-TPAT audit, Technical audit and Environment audit; capacity building for companies implementing CSR. She is credited with developing and implementing programs for domestic suppliers that achieved long-term compliance and capacity building. Judy has sound technical knowledge in environment, health and safety, waste management and CSR solutions for supply chain. 

Prior to joining NEWAsia Solutions in 2019 as a Compliance Associate, Judy was an Assistant Manager in vendor compliance sustainability department in Li & Fung Trading Service Shanghai Company Qingdao branch office, where she was primarily responsible for factory evaluation, training, internal company project coordination and implementation, as well as Qingdao vendor compliance sustainability team management and coordination.

Judy holds bachelor degree from Shandong University major in English, and associated degree from Tongji University major in Water Supply and Discharge department. Judy is the certified trainer for SAC Higg Index 2.0 and 3.0 version, verifier for SAC Higg Index 2.0 version.

Amen Wang, ESG Project Manager

Amen has nearly 10 years of experience in ESG and has very rich experience in corporate safety operation, risk assessment, environmental protection and CSR management. He currently leads the operations in social responsibility assessments, electrical and fire audits, tailor-made compliance consulting, CITI/CATI/PRTR projects, FEM SLCP technical support, environmental compliance monitoring and remediation, global ESG regulations update, etc. In addition to his areas of responsibility, Amen has expertise in domestic labor, environmental health and safety laws, regulations, and standards, and he is skilled in GHG accounting, verification, trend analysis of energy consumption data, and compliance consulting services across the supply chain.

Amen graduated from Nanjing University and his majority is Human Resources Management.

Alien Rao, Testing Service Manager

Alien has nearly 20 years of management experience in the field of environmental, occupational health testing and analysis. As a testing service manager, Alien is mainly responsible for the laboratory management of NEWAsia, including laboratory CMA qualification application, establishment of laboratory quality management system, internal audit of the laboratory, laboratory management review, etc.
Alien holds a bachelor's degree with a major in Chemical Engineering & Process.

Edward Xiao, Project Manager

Mr. Edward Xiao, a strategic and practical project management expert in business fields with more than 15 years of experience. Edward has worked in the government department, NGO, and the supply chain. He has a wealth of experience in business operation, environmental protection, corporation social responsibility projects and risk control. In past years, he has participated in energy efficiency projects for domestic and foreign brands with dozens of factories to assist them on how to improve their compliance, competition advantages and brand images through management, technology, and methods. 

Jaime Wang, ESG Assistant (Building Safety)

Jaime Wang is mainly engaged in on-site building inspections at NEWAsia, conducting preliminary investigations on projects and drawings, formulating inspection plans, implementing on-site testing, developing inspection and appraisal reports, etc. 

Jaime graduated with a major of civil engineering.

Catherina Vu, Compliance Specialist

Ms. Catherina Vu has more than 8 years’ working experience in social & environmental compliance, C-TPAT assessment in Vietnam. Catherina also has practical experience in compliance about WRAP, Better Work, Sedex, SMETA audits, as well as knowledge of the client standards such as: adidas, Nike, Under Armour, PVH, etc.

Catherina holds a B.A. degree from Hai Phong Private University, in Vietnam.

Lenzile Gumbi, ESG Project Assistant

Lenzile is currently finishing his Master’s degree in Structural Engineering at Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture. At NEWAsia, he is mainly engaged in on-site building inspections, conducting preliminary investigations on the project sites and drawings, formulating inspection plans, implementing on-site inspection, writing inspection and appraisal reports, etc.

Lenzile holds a B.A. degree in Civil Engineering.

Guo Wendeng, Industrial Expert

Mr. Guo Wendeng, Professorate Senior Engineer. With more than 40 years of experience working in the dyeing and finishing industry, Mr. Guo has been in charge of several key technology innovations and the development of many new products, crafts and technologies. As a state council expert for Special Allowance, Mr. Guo worked as an expert for the China Dyeing and Printing Association, Environment Protection and Resources Conservation Committee of China National Textile and Apparel Council, and Zhejiang Dyeing and Printing Association, etc. As part of an expert team, Mr. Guo also participated in the implementation of 
SWITCH- Asia Programme, a European Union programme the printing and dyeing sector in China.

Bob Clifford, EHS consultant 

Bob is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and attorney with more than 25 years of professional industrial hygiene experience in consulting, academic and manufacturing environments. For the past 15 years, this has included work for the corporate responsibility groups of several corporations in the footwear and apparel industries involving worker exposure assessments and air quality testing, chemical management issues, product safety and regulatory compliance. Bob is a solo practitioner serving local and international clients.

Rachel Zhang, Finance Manager

Ms. Zhang has more than 20 years’ experience in Financial and Administrative management.
