ILO SCORE Annual Capacity Building Training Workshop 2019

Hangzhou | 25 June 2019

On 25th June 2019, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises (SCORE) Annual Capacity Building Training Workshop was held in Hangzhou, China, which assembled more than 100 representatives from the government authorities, SCORE enterprises and SCORE service providers. The meeting aimed to share the SCORE training experiences and thoughts, make suggestions for strategic development plans of future project promotion and enhance the training capacity of the trainers.

The opening remark was provided by Dr. Zhang Xubiao, National Project Manager of ILO Office for China and Mongolia. Ms. Amanda Xu, Operations Director of NEWAsia Solutions Limited, was invited to deliver a speech in the SCORE TALK session on how to promote a SCORE project in a systematic and efficient way. Ms. Amanda Xu elaborated that all factories were concerned that CSR will cost them more money. But the reality was that good CSR needs to evolve programs and implementation methodology that permits the factory to choose an effective CSR program and have it focus on the issues that not only matter to the brand but to the factory’s profitability as well. So it’s important to create a sustainable SCORE project that is both self-sustaining and creates equity for the factory.
